Pump.fun referral code not working?

Most problems come from the order of steps, the type of deposit or the ten-day window. Each cause below is matched to the section of pump.fun’s Referral Rewards Program Terms (last updated 26 October 2026) that it comes from.

Pump.fun runs two programs on the same code. The welcome match (up to $50 for new users) follows the Referral Rewards Program Terms. The fee benefit (0.40% instead of 0.45% Platform Fee) follows section 4.9 of the platform terms. Each item below says which one it affects.

The code wasn’t applied to your account

1. You only opened the referral link § 4.1

Affects: Welcome matchFee benefit

Opening pump.fun/join/VIP50 doesn’t apply the code. The terms say a referral counts only if you apply the code in the pump.fun mobile app (or another interface pump.fun designates). Sharing a code or using a link “does not by itself attribute a referral”.

What to do: enter VIP50 in the app during signup, then check that the offer shows as applied before you buy anything. For the fee benefit, the code has to be associated with the wallet you trade from.

2. You applied the code after your first fiat purchase § 3.2, 4.1

Affects: Welcome match

The code must be applied before your first purchase through an integrated payment provider. Only that first purchase can be the qualifying deposit; later purchases never count.

What to do: the welcome match can’t be recovered once the first purchase is made without a code. You may still be able to add a code for the lower Platform Fee; see the fee section.

3. You used pump.fun before 7 October 2026 § 2.1, 3.2

Affects: Welcome match

The welcome match is for new users who first began using pump.fun on or after the program started, 7 October 2026. Pump.fun also checks for linked wallets, devices, emails and payment accounts, and each person can receive the new-user reward only once.

What to do: an older account doesn’t qualify for the match, and opening a new wallet to get around this breaks the rules in section 8.1. The fee benefit has no new-user rule: the platform terms let you apply a code whether or not you have used pump.fun before.

4. A different code is already linked to your wallet Platform terms § 4.9

Affects: Welcome matchFee benefit

Only one referral code can be associated with a wallet at a time, and pump.fun may treat the association as permanent. If another code was applied first, VIP50 can’t replace it.

What to do: check which code your account shows. Any valid code gets the same published welcome match and fee rate, so there’s nothing to gain by switching.

The deposit didn’t qualify

5. You transferred crypto instead of buying it in the app § 4.2

Affects: Welcome match

Only a purchase with fiat money through a payment provider integrated in pump.fun counts. Sending SOL or USDC from an exchange or another wallet is not a qualifying deposit, although it doesn’t disqualify your wallet either.

What to do: if you haven’t made an in-app fiat purchase yet, your first one can still qualify, as long as the code was applied first.

6. The purchase was under $1, refunded or charged back § 4.2(c), (d)

Affects: Welcome match

The qualifying deposit must be worth at least US$1 before the provider’s fees, and must not be reversed, refunded, cancelled or charged back. Each person gets one match base; it is the lower of the deposit and $50.

7. You withdrew the purchased assets too early § 4.2(d)

Affects: Welcome match

If the assets you bought are withdrawn from your wallet before the final installment is credited, every installment not yet credited is forfeited.

What to do: keep the purchased assets in the same wallet until all five installments have arrived.

Installments stopped or never arrived

8. Fewer than five trading days inside the ten-day window § 4.4

Affects: Welcome match

The earning window is ten days, starting on the day your deposit is confirmed. Trading days are counted in UTC and don’t need to be consecutive. Days 1 to 4 each release one-sixth of the match, and day 5 releases two-sixths. Anything not earned by the end of the window is forfeited, even if you trade later.

Example from the terms: a $50 deposit with one trading day earns about $8.33. The remaining $41.67 needs four more trading days inside the window.

What to do: count days in UTC, not your local time. Depending on your time zone, two trades either side of your local midnight can fall on the same UTC day. The trades must be genuine; section 8.1 rules out wash trading and nominal trades made only to create trading days.

9. Pump.fun’s review is still pending § 4.6

Affects: Welcome match

Each installment is credited after pump.fun reviews the deposit, the trading day and both participants. Pump.fun doesn’t commit to any timeline and may hold installments until the end of the earning window.

What to do: wait until the window has closed before assuming an installment is missing. Nothing counts as earned until it is credited.

10. You’re in an excluded country, or used a VPN § 2.2, 3.1(c)

Affects: Welcome match

The program excludes the United Kingdom, pump.fun’s prohibited countries and anywhere pump.fun or your payment provider is unavailable. Brazil, Indonesia and Nigeria were added on 26 October 2026. You must be located and ordinarily resident in an eligible territory, without a VPN or proxy. If your country becomes excluded during your window, no further installments are credited.

11. The program budget or a referrer limit was reached § 5.1, 5.2

Affects: Welcome match

Rewards come from a limited budget, paid first come, first served. When the budget runs out, the program ends, even for codes already applied. Pump.fun can also cap how many rewards any referrer earns, and codes applied after a cap don’t generate a reward for either side. That applies to VIP50 like any other code.

12. The review flagged your activity § 8.1, 8.3

Affects: Welcome matchFee benefit

Pump.fun can withhold or reclaim rewards if it believes a deposit was made mainly to get the reward, or sees self-referral, several wallets or identities, someone else’s payment account, wash trading or a VPN. It doesn’t have to give reasons, and its decision is final.

The fee still shows 0.45%

Affects: Fee benefit

With a referral code applied, app and web trades carry a 0.40% Platform Fee instead of 0.45%. The rate applies when a valid code is associated with your wallet at the moment you submit the trade. If you still see 0.45%, the most likely explanation is that the wallet you’re trading from has no code associated: the code may be on a different wallet, or wasn’t fully applied. Pump.fun can also remove or reassign a code association, so check what your account shows. Pump.fun’s platform terms (section 4.9) allow a code to be applied whether or not you’ve used pump.fun before, subject to eligibility.

On Terminal and third-party interfaces, pump.fun doesn’t charge the Platform Fee at all, so a code changes nothing there. See every pump.fun fee, explained.

What you can still do

1. Check what your account shows. The app shows which code is applied and the Platform Fee before you confirm each trade.
2. Contact pump.fun support via the link on the pump.fun homepage if you believe a deposit, trading day or installment was declined by mistake. Pump.fun may review it, but isn’t obliged to, and its decision is final (section 8.6).
3. Don’t work around the rules. New wallets, VPNs or another person’s payment account can cost you rewards you’ve already received; pump.fun can reclaim them from your wallet (section 8.4).

This site can’t see, change or fix pump.fun accounts, and we never ask for wallet access. We have checked the public terms and the official invite page, but haven’t tested every in-app screen, so the app’s own wording takes priority.
